PMDD Redeemed | Emotional Regulation, Cycle Syncing, Monthly Cycle Hormones, Christian Women, Hormone Imbalance
This podcast is for women longing for hope and healing in the midst of PMDD.
It focuses on helping you remember the truth and character of God and who you are in him when every cell in your body and mind is telling you to do otherwise.
It's about find our hope, strength and anchoring in Jesus through this thorn in the flesh called PMDD, while also seeking to alleviate suffering by aligning our lifestyle practices with how God designed and created our bodies.
This isn't a "I'm cured! Do exactly what I did". It's a "let's walk through this together, here's what I've found helpful along the way".
If we haven't met, I'm Lauren Collins, the host of this podcast! I've been a registered nurse for over a decade, and my passion ever since being diagnosed with PMDD has been to help women on their own journeys. I'm also a mama, follower of Jesus, lover of lavender and farmer's markets, and yes, someone who has dealt with PMDD since I was 16.
My goal with this podcast is to ultimately point you to Christ as the one who walks with you through your PMDD struggles, and to stick with him whether you find healing or you continue to struggle your whole life this side of heaven. I will bring evidence-based research to you regarding PMDD, provide encouragement through Scripture and prayer and have guests who will also cheer you on.
So glad you're here.

Hey friend! Are you looking for ways to better incorporate movement into your life that pairs nicely with your menstrual cycle? It can be easy to think of God just up there in Heaven waving a finger at us, saying "you should have this figured out by now" or "can you just pull up your bootstraps already?" But yet God is gracious and compassionate in the midst of our "figuring out", pain and suffering. Even when we're living in deliberate sin, he's still waiting on us and wants to restore us.
In this episode, I'm sharing 4 passages that point to just this. God wants to heal, wants to restore, wants to rescue. He cares that you're brokenhearted, that you're struggling with debilitating anxiety or depression again this premenstrual phase, that you're discouraged about your health and wellness journey.
Have a listen and may you encounter the God who heals and rescues.

We all know the classic passage about love in 1 Corinthians. But when you read it, does it instill in you? Guilt, freedom, condemnation? When we're dealing with PMS or PMDD symptoms, and we clearly see we aren't kind or patient, and we're actually just downright rude and self-seeking, how do we allow the gospel to move in us that turns us away from self-serving to self-sacrifice?
This is the last of the Advent series, as Christmas is just a few days away. This episode brings both love and Christ together, because we can't love, we can't be gracious or kind until we allow the true and radical love of God to transform us.
Blessings,
Lauren

Joy: it goes beyond just being happy and smiling all the time. Joy in Jesus is so much different than just being happy all the time, and it's even more pertinent when we're suffering, struggling or desiring something that just hasn't happened yet. However, how do we move beyond mood swings and how we're feeling in our premenstrual phase and truly root our strength in the joy of what Jesus has done for us and the promises God speaks over us? I know for my own self, this is an area God is continually refining me in. It requires humility and trusting in God's goodness, and not just in how I feel.
So come have a listen to this third week of advent, and be invited to pursue a joy that's deep deep down, beyond fickle emotions and thoughts, but rather deeply grounded in the truth of who God is.
